UK ELECTIONS 2024: A PARTING OF THE WAYS INSIDE LABOURISM, NEVER MIND THE ELECTORAL SUCCESS – In the 4 July legislative election, the Conservative government suffered a crushing electoral defeat, and Rishi Sunak resigned. The Labour Party led by Keir Starmer won 411 (or 412) parliamentary seats out of 650, but did so with 3 million fewer votes than Jeremy Corbyn in 2017!
ARGENTINA’s MILEI AND THE REORGANIZATION OF THE PERONIST OPPOSITION – The president of the republic, Javier Milei, has said publicly the most concerning thing: “I would like to put the last nail in the coffin of Kirchnerism, with Cristina Kirchner inside.” She replied via Channel X: “So, now you want to kill me too? THE 16TH BRICS CONFERENCE IN RUSSIA – The Conference took place in Kazan 22-24 October 2024. Founded in 2009, BRICS is composed of five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. It has just been enlarged to include Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia. On this particular occasion, Turkey, Cuba and Bolivia made formal applications to join.

The arch Blairite Peter Mandelson (now Lord for services rendered) says that Sunak wanted quick elections to put a stop to the soaring popularity of far-right Farage and his Reform Party.
THE DEFENCE OF SOVEREIGNTY AND INSTITUTIONALITY IN VENEZUELA – The defence of national sovereignty and ‘institutionality’ in Venezuela is paramount to stop imperialist interference; it is decisive to prevent the imperialist occupation of Latin America. The presidential election of 28 July 2024 was not just any election; and it was not one more election either, after the thirty-one others that the Bolivarian government always won in accord with the constitutional rules (save for two when the right refused to recognise the election).
A NEW GOVERNMENT IN FRANCE, YET MORE RIGHTWING THAN BEFORE – In the legislative elections of 7 July 2024, the left-wing components of the New Popular Front (NFP) got the most votes. Following this, political life became suspended for two months, while the so-called ‘resigned’ ministers continued more or less in their roles.
